Important Update for Customers Seeking to purchase R-404A and/or R-507A in the State of New York after March 31, 2026

We want to inform our refrigeration customers of an upcoming enforcement change affecting the sale of certain refrigerants in New York State.

Under New York State Department of Environmental Conservation regulations (6 NYCRR Part 494), the sale of high GWP (global warming potential) refrigerants is being restricted in the State of New York.

As a result, Daikin Comfort Technologies Northeast, Inc. (Daikin Northeast) will no longer be permitted to sell virgin refrigerants R-404A or R-507A from any of our New York State branches beginning April 1, 2026. These virgin refrigerants will remain available for purchase in New York State only through March 31, 2026.

However, reclaimed R-404A and R-507A will be available for sale after March 31, 2026, in New York State under the Part 494 regulations. It must be noted these reclaimed refrigerants are in limited supply and availability.

Effective April 1, 2026, contractors may continue to use the R-404A and R-507A that they or their end users already own for service and maintenance of existing systems, but new sales of these refrigerants in or destined for New York State will not be allowed.

Sales and purchases of virgin R-404A and R-507A after March 31, 2026, will continue to be available in Daikin Northeast branches located outside of the State of New York for sale and distribution outside the State of New York.
